Both the Maestro and Masterlink cases express the same Gerald Charles design philosophy: pushing mechanics beyond its limits to give form to creativity. While the Maestro transforms an asymmetric shape into an architectural signature that is incredibly difficult to manufacture, the Masterlink creates a dynamic equilibrium of different curves and straight lines, achieving remarkable strength and fluidity.

True to the Maison’s signature asymmetry, the Masterlink reveals a case which retains the iconic “smile” at 6 o’clock, while the upper profile evolves with sharper, more squared lines, bringing a new architectural strength to the design.

Grade 5 Titanium combines exceptional lightness with strength and excellent resistance to scratches. A material that is as hard as steel, but 40 per cent lighter, giving the watch a remarkably light presence on the wrist while preserving solidity, stability, and long-term reliability. More resistant than pure titanium, Grade 5 Titanium offers excellent structural performance and a refined tactile quality. Its strength-to-weight ratio allows the case to feel both robust and effortless, enhancing ergonomics and freedom of movement.

Medical-grade stainless steel is selected for its exceptional balance of strength and durability. Engineered to withstand daily wear, humidity, and corrosion, it provides the case with long-lasting structural integrity while preserving the refined presence expected of a high-watchmaking creation. Its density gives the watch a reassuring feel on the wrist, while its hardness and stability allow for extremely precise machining. The Borromini inspiration

For the iconic Maestro case, Mr. Genta found inspiration in a 17th-century Baroque monument by Francesco Borromini in Rome. Two visionary minds, connected by a cultural dialogue between Switzerland and Italy: Genta, of Italian heritage and shaped by art; Borromini, born in Italian-speaking Switzerland before bringing his architectural genius to Rome.

CASE FINISHING

The Maestro case demands a level of finishing far beyond the industry standard. Its asymmetrical geometry, unlike conventional round cases, requires every curve and surface to be treated individually, an exceptionally complex process that enhances the rarity, precision and unmistakable identity of the design.

Darkblast® is a proprietary Gerald Charles finishing technique that uses a precise combination of powders applied at specific pressure to create a uniform surface with optimal light absorption, a soft velvet-like touch and high resistance. It is not a coating, but the natural surface of the material itself is worked, refined and enhanced to reveal its intrinsic character.

The Maestro case is finished entirely by hand, with meticulous polishing that preserves its complex geometry and requires four to five times longer than standard case finishing. Each component is individually inspected before final assembly.

Each gem is individually cut to follow the Maestro’s irregular bezel, with three distinct stone cuts created to trace its curves. Unlike standard baguette setting, each geometry is adapted to the case, turning complex engineering into a seamless expression of asymmetry and light.
