LIMITED EDITION OF 10 PIECES The Maestro 8.0 Squelette Gem-Set Rubies features 66 baguette-cut stones of the highest purity set by hand into an 18K white gold bezel. The case is in medical grade stainless steel, while the vulcanised rubber strap matches the colour of the precious gem.

The Maestro 8.0 Squelette has been engineered with a bespoke gasket to seal the case's sapphire crystals and the screw-down crown, ensuring a 10 ATM water-resistance. Furthermore, the case, the lugs and the pin buckle are all on the same straight line. Hence, the adhering surface on the wrist is maximised to well distribute the timepiece's weight, enabling to wear it everytime and everywhere.

PRECIOUS STONES SET BY HAND

Complex engineering solutions have been applied to integrate a series of precious gems into the Maestro’s curved case architecture. The challenge is brought up by the irregular shape of the bezel which requires a special cut for each precious stone.

For the Maestro 8.0 Squelette, Gerald Charles engineers developed the automatic calibre with a micro-rotor architecture and bespoke screws exclusive to Gerald Charles. Furthermore, when it came to designing the calibre, it was chosen the theme of the celestial sky chart. The star-shaped cage that holds the micro-rotor in place is shaped like a shooting star, with rays spreading playfully across it.

The irregular shape of the bezel makes gem-setting a singular challenge, requiring a special cut for each precious stone and leaving little metal to hold them in place. The result is an invisible setting of 66 baguette fancy-cut stones of the highest purity, set entirely by hand into an 18-carat white gold bezel by highly skilled artisans.
