WHERE FORMS BECOME ICONS

Every Gerald Charles watch begins with a shape. The case is the visual language of the brand: so distinctive, so deliberately crafted, and impossible to forget.

TWO COLLECTIONS EVOLVING TOGETHER

Both the Maestro and Masterlink cases express the same Gerald Charles design philosophy: pushing mechanics beyond its limits to give form to creativity. While the Maestro transforms an asymmetric shape into an architectural signature that is incredibly difficult to manufacture, the Masterlink creates a dynamic equilibrium of different curves and straight lines, achieving remarkable strength and fluidity.

The Maestro case is a Baroque-inspired asymmetric case

MAESTRO

Gerald Charles at its most complex: a Baroque-inspired asymmetric case that explores the tension between geometry and movement, precision and art. A sculptural case that carries the Maison’s signature language to its most elaborate expression.

The Masterlink has a square-based architecture and a balanced geometry

MASTERLINK

True to the Maison’s signature asymmetry, the Masterlink reveals a case which retains the iconic “smile” at 6 o’clock, while the upper profile evolves with sharper, more squared lines, bringing a new architectural strength to the design.

CASE MATERIALS

From the hypoallergenic medical-grade stainless steel to the elegant rose gold. From strong titanium to the ultra-light forged carbon.

Grade 5 Titanium case material

Grade 5 Titanium combines exceptional lightness with strength and excellent resistance to scratches. A material that is as hard as steel, but 40 per cent lighter, giving the watch a remarkably light presence on the wrist while preserving solidity, stability, and long-term reliability. More resistant than pure titanium, Grade 5 Titanium offers excellent structural performance and a refined tactile quality. Its strength-to-weight ratio allows the case to feel both robust and effortless, enhancing ergonomics and freedom of movement.

Stainless Steel case material

Medical-grade stainless steel is selected for its exceptional balance of strength and durability. Engineered to withstand daily wear, humidity, and corrosion, it provides the case with long-lasting structural integrity while preserving the refined presence expected of a high-watchmaking creation. Its density gives the watch a reassuring feel on the wrist, while its hardness and stability allow for extremely precise machining. This makes it possible to achieve sharp architectural lines, polished surfaces, and refined finishes with remarkable definition.

White Gold case material

White gold gives the case a discreet form of preciousness, combining the intrinsic value of a noble metal with a cooler, more contemporary luminosity. Its natural stability and resistance to oxidation make it particularly suited to a case designed for lasting elegance. Unlike warmer precious metals, white gold offers a more quieter expression of luxury.

Rose Gold case material

Rose gold 4N lends the case a refined warmth and a soft pink hue, more delicate than deeper yellow gold tones. Its luminosity enhances the watch’s architecture, while gold’s noble properties offer natural corrosion resistance, long-term stability and a precious tactile presence on the wrist.

Forged Carbon case material

Forged carbon gives the case exceptional strength and a distinctly technical character, while ensuring comfort on the wrist and reliable performance in all conditions. Known in the motorcycle world for its remarkable lightness and resilience, the material is perfectly suited to watchmaking, bringing a tactile sensation that is modern, lightweight, and highly functional. Its low density and high strength-to-weight ratio reduce mass on the wrist while preserving the structural stability required for everyday wear.

The Maestro case is inspired by a Borromini’s Baroque architecture in Rome

The iconic smile at 6 o'clock

Baroque asymmetry has long informed Genta’s aesthetic, giving shape to a joyful, creative signature that remains central to his timeless design language. The distinctive “smile” at 6 o’clock is its clearest expression: a subtle concavity that evokes the curved façade of Borromini’s architecture.

The Borromini inspiration

For the iconic Maestro case, Mr. Genta found inspiration in a 17th-century Baroque monument by Francesco Borromini in Rome. Two visionary minds, connected by a cultural dialogue between Switzerland and Italy: Genta, of Italian heritage and shaped by art; Borromini, born in Italian-speaking Switzerland before bringing his architectural genius to Rome.

CASE FINISHING

The Maestro case demands a level of finishing far beyond the industry standard. Its asymmetrical geometry, unlike conventional round cases, requires every curve and surface to be treated individually, an exceptionally complex process that enhances the rarity, precision and unmistakable identity of the design.

Darkblast finishing of the case

Darkblast®

Darkblast® is a proprietary Gerald Charles finishing technique that uses a precise combination of powders applied at specific pressure to create a uniform surface with optimal light absorption, a soft velvet-like touch and high resistance. It is not a coating, but the natural surface of the material itself is worked, refined and enhanced to reveal its intrinsic character.

Hand polishing

The Maestro case is finished entirely by hand, with meticulous polishing that preserves its complex geometry and requires four to five times longer than standard case finishing. Each component is individually inspected before final assembly.

Precious stones set by hand

Each gem is individually cut to follow the Maestro’s irregular bezel, with three distinct stone cuts created to trace its curves. Unlike standard baguette setting, each geometry is adapted to the case, turning complex engineering into a seamless expression of asymmetry and light.
